2024 Southeast Little League Divisions

Use this CHART to determine your child's Little League Age for this summer.

Rookies (ages 4-6) - The Rookies division involves a coach pitching with Tee Rescue. This division uses a safety ball and is focused on introducing the kids to the basic fundamentals of baseball. Teams are formed by the school they attend and no standings or scores are kept.

Competitive Coach Pitch Minor (ages 6-7) - CCP Minor is for all players wishing to advance from Rookies. Typically, these players have advanced to a level where they are aware of their surroundings and who can catch & field a baseball. Scores and standings are kept with a League Tournament at the end of the season. All players in this division must attend a Player Evaluation session and will be selected to teams according to their ability via a common draft.

Competitive Coach Pitch Major (ages 7-8) - CCP Major is for all players wishing to advance from Coach Pitch Minor ages 6-7. Typically, these players have advanced to a level where they are aware of their surroundings, are ready to begin making plays, understand the concepts of the game and who can catch & field a baseball. Scores and standings are kept with a League Tournament at the end of the season. All players in this division must attend a Player Evaluation session and will be selected to teams according to their ability via a common draft.

Minors (ages 9-10) - The Minors division is a competitive player pitch division. This division gives players a chance to develop the baseball skills necessary to advance to the Majors division. Scores and standings are kept with a League Tournament at the end of the season. All players in this division must attend a Player Evaluation session and will be selected to teams according to their ability via a common draft. Advanced 8-year-olds have the option to attend evaluations to be considered for placement on a Minors team.

Majors (ages 11-12) - The Majors division is a competitive player pitch division. Scores and standings are kept with a League Tournament at the end of the season. All players in this division must attend a Player Evaluation session and will be selected to teams according to their ability via a common draft. All 12-year-olds will be placed on a Majors team. Advanced 10-year-olds have the option to attend evaluations to be considered for placement on a Majors team. All other players not selected for Majors in the draft will be placed in the Minors division. 

50/70 (age 13) - The 50/70 division is a competitive player pitch division. The 50/70 division plays on a field with a 50’ pitching distance and 70’ base paths. Scores and standings are kept with a League Tournament at the end of the season. All players in this division must attend a Player Evaluation session and will be selected to teams according to their ability via a common draft.

Games for Majors Division games are typically played on M-W; Minors Division games are typically played on T-TH; CCP Division are typically played on M-W-F and Rookie Division games are played are M-W-F.  Games will start around Mid-April and end in late June for Majors, Minors & CCP. Rookies games start the first week in May and end in late June.

Note: Registering for any given division DOES NOT GUARENTEE placement in that division. The SELL Board has the right to move players to a division they feel is appropriate regardless of registration due to safety concerns.
